Tutoring
Even when I’m out of the classroom, I can never really leave it too far behind. And I wouldn’t want to! What I love about tutoring is the chance to create one-on-one relationships with students and to be an adult they can trust to give them the support they need. My secret weapons with individual tutoring clients are my understanding of differentiating to different learners and passion for motivating them to define and achieve their own notions of success. Academic reinforcement isn’t a punishment: it’s an opportunity for growth.
Over the past ten years, I’ve taught and tutored students in grades 5-12 in the following subjects:
English and Literature
Writing (Analytical, Expository, and Creative)
History (American, European, Western Civilizations, and World)
Additionally, I offer test prep to students for the following exams:
ISEE, SHSAT, and SSAT
SAT
ACT
SAT Subject Tests (Literature, U.S., History, and World History)
Advanced Placement (English Language & Composition, English Literature & Composition, European History, Government and Politics: Comparative, Government and Politics: U.S., Human Geography, Psychology, United States History, World History: Ancient, and World History: Modern)
