I’m a fiction and personal essay writer living in Brooklyn. After attending Washington University in St. Louis (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) I made my way to New York to work in publishing.
Craving a life away from a desk, I then earned my M.Ed at New York University (with honors). From there, I jumped right into teaching English (and sometimes history), which I continued to do and love for a decade. In addition, I developed and consulted on service learning and college admissions programs for schools and community programs.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked as an independent high school and college admissions counselor, which includes writing support for essays and supplements, as well as list-building and general application management. I also tutor students in grades 5-12 in the humanities and writing, and for various school entrance exams. I am now counseling and tutoring full-time, working on fiction and personal essay projects by day, Though I’m based out of Brooklyn, I travel all over the City and its surrounding suburbs and have worked with a number of students across the country and, even, the globe.
