THE PROCESS
The college admissions process can be more than a little daunting and create anxiety in applicants and their families. My goal is to demystify and streamline that process and make it fun. (It really can be!) By bringing what I’ve learned from the classroom into my work with juniors and seniors, I draw on years of building relationships with students and understanding how to work with each kid individually, Together, we will craft an application package that gives schools a deep, authentic sense of your child. The essential parts of a comprehensive college counseling program include:
developing a balanced list of schools that paves the way for multiple offers
completing the Common Application and other related materials
building on applicants’ life experiences to produce a college essay and supplemental written materials so that schools know who the applicant is, and not merely what he or she has done
where applicable, completing financial information (i.e., FAFSA) and searching out and applying for scholarships
I offer packages that include both writing and admissions process support, or am happy to discuss by-session plans focused either on a particular of the process (e.g., essay and supplement writing support). During our initial consultation, we can discuss the option that’s best for you and your future freshman.
I also offer the same services for the high school application process.
I’m a professional member of both the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) and College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY).
